FAQs
Are reservations required?
Reservations are not required but are recommended, as they are the only way to guarantee a table for dinner. We keep some tables open and available for walk-in guests but they can fill up quickly. If you plan to join us as a walk-in guest we recommend arriving at 5:00 pm when we open to maximize your chance of snagging an open table.
Do you take to-go orders?
At the moment, we are not accepting to-go orders.
Where do I park?
Odd Duck provides complimentary valet in our small lot. If you would like to park yourself, you can find street parking on Gibson Street (behind our building) and around the bend at the bottom of the hill.
Do you have gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegetarian options?
Yes, we have GF, DF, & Vegetarian offerings and can easily modify our menu to fit most allergies or dietary restrictions when you arrive. We also have at least 2 vegan options available for every dinner service.
Is the online menu up to date?
Most likely, but we have an ever-changing menu. For any menu questions, please email us.
Do you have food options for kids?
We have at least a couple of options for every service for little ducklings. These options will vary with our current menu.
Do you offer food in the afternoon hours?
Currently, we are only open for dinner service. We open daily at 4:30 pm.
Is Odd Duck dog friendly?
Most of the time, we love our furry friends! We do ask that you call the restaurant ahead of time to make sure we can accommodate you, as we are not always able to do so. There is limited space and availability on our open-air seasonal patio.
Where did the name Odd Duck come from?
Our roots stem from a food trailer on the very same lot as our now brick-and-mortar restaurant. When the Gilmore brothers drove the 1970’s Fleetwood Mallard trailer from Wisconsin down to Austin they could not think of a name. The now Molly Gilmore, Bryce’s wife, saw the lone Mallard on the trailer and suggested the name Odd Duck. After a few days, it finally stuck!
Does Odd Duck have any other locations?
Nope, we are the one and only! However, there is an unaffiliated Odd Duck in Milwaukee. We do have two very different sister restaurants, though: Barley Swine, our older, more refined sister, and Sour Duck, our ultra-casual, tasty little brother.
May I bring a cake to Odd Duck?
Yes, however, we do have a $20 outside cake fee.
